Given the many pressures currently facing higher education, methods to foster student success both within and beyond the classroom are vital. In a constantly changing world and job market, we must future-proof our students, making sure they have the skills necessary to be successful in diverse, and often unknown, situations. This presentation outlines the College of Arts and Humanities at Lindenwood University’s efforts to meet this need through the Skill-ify the Syllabi – initiative. This initiative, which centers on power (unfortunately misnamed “soft”) skills, ensures our students are able to understand, communicate, and apply the important skills they are developing in our courses.
