In this session, the presenter will convey the importance of teaching writers of color alongside those in the traditional literary canon. In addition to the selection of reading assignments, the presenter will share the importance of rethinking traditional grading methods--in particular, attendance for face-to-face courses and final projects in lieu of final exams.
