Integrating Holistic Curriculum Design into Learning Communities: A Pathway to Whole-Person Education
Dr. Rachel Vincitore, Norfolk State University
Innovation within education is leading to far-reaching transformations in how we teach and learn, especially as the world continues to be shaped by digital tools and the speed of change. This session is geared towards faculty, instructional designers, and educators with progressive, transformative approaches to teaching, especially in relation to technology. The sudden presence of tools, like artificial intelligence, immersive media, adaptive learning platforms, and other future-facing tools provide social opportunities for learners, more equitable opportunities for engagement for all learners, and personally relevant learning pathways. Using examples from local projects and case studies from across expanding groups in academia, this session will use a variety of small group formats to exchange tangible strategies and opportunities for leading this transformative opportunity into digital learning across our disciplines, keeping equity, empathy, and human connection at the center of our digital learning vision.
