Financial Literacy in Math Class
Michael W. Lanstrum, Cuyahoga Community College
In addition to increased credits in mathematics, students are now required to complete a personal finance course before high school graduating. By incorporating financial situations into our mathematics classrooms, we can reinforce both concepts. In this session, we will explore practical ways to integrate financial scenarios into math instruction, discuss examples that can be adapted for a variety of courses, and examine common mistakes students make when solving financial problems.
