Chatbots Create the Solutions; Students Create the Reflections

Join us for an interactive session where participants explore an innovative approach to integrating GenAI into their teaching: using chatbots to generate solutions while students focus on reflecting on their learning. By focusing on student reflection of solutions, the shift in learning goes from obtaining a correct answer to critical analysis of the solution that chatbots produce. GenAI can produce step-by-step solutions to mathematics problems. What if instructors have students evaluate these solutions for accuracy, clarity, and the underlying concepts? Participants will learn how to create reflection prompts that push students to think about the "why" and "how" behind solutions.
