Using AI during the interview process
At Hawkes Learning, we embrace AI as a tool that can support thoughtful, efficient work when used strategically, intentionally, and safely. We do not use AI to replace human judgment, shortcut meaningful conversations, or make decisions on who we recruit. During the hiring process, our goal is to get to know you, your experience, your skills, and the way you think.
We understand that AI tools can be helpful for preparation, organization, and improving clarity. You’re welcome to use AI to support your application materials or prepare for interviews, as long as your work reflects your own experience and voice.
During live interviews, we ask that you answer in your own words without AI assistance. These conversations help us understand how you communicate, solve problems, and connect with others in real time.
Acceptable uses of AI include:
-
Refining a resume or cover letter you drafted
- Preparing for interviews or practicing common questions
- Researching Hawkes Learning or the role
- Organizing your thoughts before an interview
Please do not use AI to:
-
Create application materials that misrepresent your experience
- Generate responses during a live interview
- Read from AI-written scripts during an interview
- Use AI-assisted tools during technical exercises unless your interviewer confirms they are allowed
Hawkes Learning may use AI notetaking tools during interviews to help capture the conversation accurately. These tools are used for note support only and do not make hiring decisions.
All interviews and hiring decisions are conducted and reviewed by real people.
