Error 480

To correct error 480, which is indicated by display problems such as answer boxes or screens that are too small or large, please perform the following steps:

 

Restart your computer. If the problem persists, please perform the following steps:

CONFIGURE VIDEO SETTINGS

 
Windows XP:

1.Close the Hawkes software.
2.Right-click on your Desktop.
3.From the menu that appears, click on "Properties".
4.Click on the Settings tab.
5.Click on the Advanced button.
6.Click on the Performance tab.
7.Move the Hardware Acceleration slider bar to the left one notch from Full.
8.If available, uncheck the Enable Write Combining option.
9.Click OK on each screen.
10. Restart the computer.
 

Windows Vista:

1.Close the Hawkes software.
2.Right-click on your Desktop.
3.From the menu that appears, click on "Personalize".
4.Click on Display Settings.
5.Click on the Advanced Settings button.
6.Click on the Troubleshoot tab.
7.Click on the Change Settings button.
8.Move the Hardware Acceleration slider bar to the left one notch from Full.
9.If available, uncheck the Enable Write Combining option.
10. Click OK on each screen.
11. Restart the computer.
 

Windows 7:

1.Close the Hawkes software.
2.Right-click on your Desktop.
3.From the menu that appears, click on "Screen Resolution".
4.Click on the Advanced Settings button.
5.Click on the Troubleshoot tab.
6.Click on the Change Settings button.
7.Move the Hardware Acceleration slide bar to the left one notch from Full.
8.If available, uncheck the Enable Write Combining option.
9. Click OK on each screen.
10. Restart the computer.

 

If the problem persists, perform the following steps:

CHANGE SCREEN RESOLUTION

 
Windows XP:

1.Close the Hawkes software.
2.Right-click on your Desktop.
3.From the menu that appears, click on "Properties".
4.Click on the Settings tab.
5.Set the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 (or close to it). If you have a netbook, use 800 x 600.
6.Click OK, then Yes.
 

Windows Vista:

1.Close the Hawkes software.
2.Right-click on your Desktop.
3.From the menu that appears, click on "Personalize".
4.Click on Display Settings.
5.Set the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 (or close to it). If you have a netbook, use 800 x 600.
6.Click OK, then Yes.
 

Windows 7:

1.Close the Hawkes software.
2.Right-click on your Desktop.
3.From the menu that appears, click on "Screen Resolution".
4.Set the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 (or close to it). If you have a netbook, use 800 x 600.
5.Click OK, then Yes.
